In 1996, Mr. Andreas Schweneker and Mr. Peter Gschwind have an idea: a sticking high quality watch resembling a stamp with a variety of extraordinary designs. Mr. Elmar Mock, one of the inventors of the SWATCH watch, takes over the technical part of the long procedure. Finally the first STAMPS watch emerges in form of a vertical strip with 4 connected watches. Each watch can be snapped off the strip and used individually. This first launch contains 36 different designs.
Besides the original 4 watch stripe, doubles and singles are available in 1999. In 2003, accessories like bags and t-shirts are being added to the product line.
